Canine Liver Disease

Dogs are known for its loyalty and are considered as man’s best friend. People are fond of dogs majority of the people has dogs as their pets in homes. Canine is a family of dog mostly referred to domestic dogs. People are very much conscious about their pet’s health the main problem with most of the dogs are liver diseases and we all are well aware of the importance of liver in both human beings and in animals because it is the detoxification organ of the body. Behavioral changes like circling around, head pressing and pacing aimlessly.

Another major and most prominent symptom is bleeding which may occurs from intestine, stomach and urinary tract. A small hemorrhage is also visible on dog’s gum, bruises becomes visible under skin and lips.

Unfortunately, no specific treatment is available for canine liver disease except a specific kind of conventional therapy that can be directed for his purpose. It includes a supportive care like force feeding through some food tube and giving some fluid for the recovery of the dog. Basic aim behind this therapy is the cleansing of canine liver.

Food that should be avoided in this disease is chocolate, sugar, grilled, fried meat and bones green, red peppers, onions and tomatoes. Make use of stainless steel utensils for your dog rather than plastic bowls. Avoid them from drinking dirty water and make them available with distilled water.

Conventional therapy is followed by a supplementary treatment which is made possible by the type of diet that is given to the dogs suffering from it. The kind of food that is best for dogs in this condition is of high quality and mainly enrich with edible carbohydrates. This is for continuously renewal of energy. Low or poor quality carbohydrates make the ammonia digestion difficult in dogs, always feed the canine liver disease dogs with simple carbohydrates like white rice, and also include potatoes in their diet. For the healthy and well bowel movement include fibers like green leafy vegetables in your pet’s diet.

Don’t lose hope when it is about canine liver disease you can’t control it completely but you can make it better to some extent. No specific therapy or medicine guarantees the absolute fitness of your pet.
